Planning travel over Thanksgiving week
Book and confirm early
If you plan to travel within the US that week, book flights, trains and places to stay as early as you can, and confirm your bookings a few days before you go. Keep confirmation emails and addresses saved on your phone, so you can open them without a signal.
If you plan to visit shops, attractions or restaurants on the holiday itself, check their opening hours directly with each one before you go.
Check your airline and rail operator for updates
Schedules can change. Check your airline or rail operator’s website or app before you leave for the airport or station, and turn on their alerts if they offer them.
Entry documents: check official sources
We do not list visa, ESTA or other entry rules in this article, because they can change. Check USA.gov and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for current requirements before you book and again before you fly.
